Global Peace Mission
Amma’s Global Peace Mission seeks to address the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual suffering of all beings in order to ensure peace individually, amongst families & communities, and worldwide. As such, Amma, along with the SMVA Trust & Volunteers, have developed & implemented multiple humanitarian projects in order to relieve the suffering of all beings in the various facets of life.
Amma has toured the world, from the US, to Canada, to Europe, to Asia, to Australia, and throughout India, in order to spread the message of World Peace, which begins by embodying love, respect, and compassion for one’s self, one’s family & community, and the world at large.
Humanitarian Mission
During Amma’s time in the Penusila Forest, in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, Amma became intimately familiar with the particular problems faced by the local villagers living there, including a lack of access to adequate health care and education. Amma’s humanitarian mission grew out of this direct exposure to the problems faced by these rural villagers in South India.
Since then, Amma, along with the SMVA Trust and innumerable volunteers, have implemented various humanitarian projects: offering food & clothing to the underprivileged, free housing to those in dire need, natural disaster relief, free medical, dental & eye treatment to the impoverished, free education & mentorship programs to stop child labor, free wheelchair distribution to the physically disabled, water treatment projects to alleviate toxic water resources, leprosy care, and a mobile health clinic to reach out to the most remote disadvantaged communities. And with all of these projects, peace, love & compassion for all of humanity is the main message to be gained.
Teaching Mission
On a spiritual level, Sri Karunamayi aims to inspire and encourage everyone to make progress on whatever spiritual path he or she has chosen, as She believes that all paths lead to the same goal of spiritual liberation.
The essence of Amma’s message to the world is that we should realize the great opportunity we have as human beings to love one another, to offer ourselves in service to the world, and to cultivate inner peace. The true purpose of human life lies in the development of the virtues of compassion, truthfulness, wisdom, contentment, and unconditional love. As each of us practice and integrate these inner values into our whole being, the inner transformation that incurs will radiate peace to our families, communities, and the entire world.
Amma is dedicated to spreading the message of World Peace, as She reminds us that we are essentially ONE family in this interconnected world. Internationally, Amma is sought after to speak on issues relating to tolerance, harmony and respect between different religions, cultures and nationalities. She has been invited to speak at the Paliament of World Religions, UN SEAT, and various other Global Peace Forums.
